About ICAN (Integrated Community Alternatives Network)
Founded in 1997 as a home-based mental and behavioral health services program for children and adults in Oneida County, ICAN was built around the core vision of Keeping Families Together. Since that time, ICAN has grown into a 20-program agency reaching communities across six counties in Central New York and serving individuals prenatally to end-of-life.

Not everyone can afford a private dentist, and this group lists the alternatives: federally qualified community health centers and county health departments that charge on a sliding scale and take Medicaid and CHIP, dental schools where supervised students treat patients at a fraction of private fees, free clinics run by charities and dental societies, mobile and in-home dentists who serve nursing homes and rural areas, and the insurance agencies and discount plans that pay for care. State and local dental associations run referral lines, Give Kids A Smile days and Mission of Mercy weekends where volunteers treat hundreds of patients for free.
Hours are published for 5 days a week. On most of those days it is open 8:30 amβ4:30 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. Utica is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Utica follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Since when is individual therapy, family therapy and mental health awareness temporary and short term. These services should continue to be available to children who need it. I used to be completely for ican reccomendations ect but now I have to think twice. Several disabled and intellectual disabled kids and we just wanna toss them back to the system who broke them in the first place, lets send em to those who couldn't help them yeah thats smart. No different than the rest. Always trying to control everything. Yes I hope you see this cause I advocate for my children's means and if that means nothing to you then you dont deserve to be here.

We have been part of the Healthy Families program with ICAN since my daughter was born in November 2021. She is now 16 months old and we looked forward to seeing Becky for every single meeting. We just moved out of the area and this is the one thing we are going to miss the most. She always made sure we understood what milestones were being reached, she helped me apply for WIC when we needed it, and she helped us look into things like mental health resources, dentists, employment opportunities, and so much more. She was very encouraging and friendly, and we are sad to have to say goodbye! My daughter always loved her visits and we want to say a huge thank you to ICAN, Healthy Families, and most importantly, Becky from the bottoms of our hearts!

Horrible case manager didnβt complete anything that she start, only to discharge my son because she couldnβt be bothered with. Now Iβm left to clean up her mess. I will never recommend them to anyone.

While the name changed (it used to be Kids Oneida), this organization continues its excellence. Itβs a great mission - helping our most vulnerable youth - with a truly wonderful and professional staff.
